-
Under the age of 65
-
Have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to participate in everyday activities.
What to do if you believe you’re eligible
The first step to accessing the NDIS is to determine your eligibility. If you believe you could be eligible, you will need to apply through the NDIS.
Application for the NDIS
If you're eligible for the NDIS, there are a couple of ways to apply.
-
You can complete an application form online called online Access Request form
-
Contact the NDIS directly on 1800 800 110 and they can assist you with the application process.
-
Contact your local Local Area Coordinator if you have one.
Plan for Your First Meeting
At your first planning meeting, the NDIS will have already created a draft budget based on the information you provided in your NDIS access request form. Your planner will review this with you and discuss any necessary updates to ensure your plan aligns with your specific needs and goals.
Discover Your Plan Management Options
There are three ways in which you can manage your NDIS funding:
-
Self-Management: you have the most control over your funding, but also the most responsibility.
-
Plan Management: allows you to have someone else manage your funding on your behalf.
-
Agency Management: involves having your funding managed by an NDIS registered provider.
